This album is a series of photos of the ruins of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Cabin Creek yard and engine terminal. Cabin Creek once played a major role in the supply of coal to industries across the United States, with millions of tons removed over the last 150 years. The C&O once had a yard at Cabin Creek, which was abandoned and much of it removed after CSX Transportation took over in the 1980's. As with most railroads though, what was not easy to remove was left to rot. CSX still owns the track and serves one tipple at the far end of the branch line south of Cabin Creek.
