This is the former Cyprus Amax Coal Company site located along the banks of the Kanawha River near Montgomery, West Virginia. The company was closed sometime in the late 1990's. The company sits along side the CSX Railroad, but apparently did not have railroad access. The driveways leading down to the dock are very steep, and one can only image the difficulties that the coal trucks had trying to get down there. This site is nearly identical to countless others located along the river that are still in operation.
